What is the difference between lb bond and lb cover?

They use different base sheet sizes for measurement. lb Bond is based on a 17 x 22 inch sheet (writing paper basis), while lb Cover uses a 20 x 26 inch sheet (card basis). So 80 lb cover is much heavier than 80 lb bond.

What GSM should I use for greeting cards?

For greeting cards, 250-350 gsm is ideal. This is heavy enough to stand up and feel premium, but still folds cleanly when scored.
