How We Calculate This
The calculator estimates paper size using the general ratio between finished model size and starting paper size.
- Simple models (crane, boat): finished size is roughly 1/3 of paper size
- Medium models (box, flower): finished size is roughly 1/4 of paper size
- Complex models (dragon, modular): finished size is roughly 1/5 of paper size
- Miniature / detailed: finished size is roughly 1/6 of paper size
The result is rounded up to the nearest 5 mm for practical sizing. These are approximate ratios that vary by specific model design.
