Card Size Calculator — Work Out Card Blank Dimensions

Calculate finished card dimensions from sheet size and fold type. See how many cards you can cut from a larger sheet.

Add bleed for print trimming (typically 3 mm)

How We Calculate This

This calculator works out finished card dimensions based on your sheet size and chosen fold type.

Fold Types

  • Half fold — divides the sheet width by 2, giving you a standard greeting card.
  • Tri-fold — divides the width by 3, used for leaflets and DL-style cards.
  • Gate fold — both sides fold inward to meet in the centre. The flat size is the full sheet; each panel is half the width.
  • Quarter fold — folds in half both ways, giving you a card one-quarter the sheet size.
  • Flat — no fold; the card is the full sheet size.

When bleed is added, the flat sheet size increases by twice the bleed on each dimension. The calculator also estimates how many cards you can cut from an A3 sheet (420 x 297 mm).
