How much ribbon do I need for a bow?

What is the most ribbon-efficient wrapping style?

A single wrap around one direction uses the least ribbon. Cross wrap uses roughly 50% more but gives a more polished look. Diagonal wrap falls in between.

What width of ribbon should I use?
